Aloo Posto Bengali Recipe is very quick and famous recipe in Bengal. Aloo Posto or  Potato with Poppy seed is Bengali traditional recipe which goes with hot plain rice. Ingredients for Aloo Posto Recipe:

2 Potatoes medium size, sliced in to medium cube size
1 big size sliced Onion
4 Green Chilies (slit 2 chilies)
1 Tomato cut into 4 pieces
Poppy seed paste 2 tsp
Mustard Oil 4 tsp
Salt as per taste
Whole Chili 1, Bay Leaf 1, Pinch of Black Cumin
Turmeric Powder ½ tsp

How to cook Aloo Posto recipe?

* Heat the pan and add oil
* Add Bay leaf, Red Chili and Black Cumin. Stir it little
* Add potatoes. Fry the potatoes, be sure make it half fry.
* Add sliced Onion and slit green chilies. I used 2 Green Chilies, you can add more if you want.
* Fry everything well
* Now add Turmeric Powder and Poppy Seed paste.
* Add little water. Mix it and stir it little.
* Add Tomato. Don’t fry the poppy seed paste too much. Make it slight fry.
* Now add 2 cups water.
* Add salt to taste. Now cover it for 15 minutes.
* After 15 minutes add Pinch Mustard Oil and Green Chili. I used Green Chili because it will look nice when it is served.
* Keep it for 2 minute after adding the Mustard oil.
Now Alu Posto is ready.
